How it works

Paying renames the website.Your name replaces the current one instantly, for everyone, everywhere.
The price starts at $1 and climbs 25¢ with each rename.It only comes down when things go quiet: after 24 hours without a rename, it drops 25¢ every hour, down to $1.
Every name holds the site for at least 60 seconds.If someone pays while your name is up, they wait their turn. No auction, no bidding: names are displayed in the order they were paid for, and yours is guaranteed its minute.
40 characters, any language.Ads, links, love letters, your cat's name. Write what you want people to see.
Some words are refused.Slurs, hate, harassment and anything illegal are blocked before payment. Names reported after payment are removed without refund.
The rules can change, and you will know.Prices and mechanics may be adjusted as the site grows. Changes are announced before they apply, never retroactively, and logged in the terms of sale.
Every name is kept forever.The history page lists every name, who paid for it and how long it survived.

The small print

Terms of sale

What you buy. A one-time service: your text becomes the name of this website and is displayed for at least 60 seconds. If other names were paid for before yours, they are displayed first and yours follows, in the order payments were received. Nothing beyond that minimum is promised.

No withdrawal right. The service is fully performed as soon as you pay. By clicking the payment button you expressly agree that it starts immediately and that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal (art. L221-28 of the French Consumer Code).

No refund. Not when someone renames the site after you, not when your name is removed for breaking the rules.

Your content. You must own the right to publish it. No hate, harassment, illegal content, impersonation, personal data of others, or misleading claims. We can remove any name at any time.

Price. Shown in US dollars before payment, taxes included. Payment is handled by Stripe.

The rules can change. How the price is calculated, how long a name lasts, what is allowed: all of it can be changed at any time, for any reason, including to keep the site interesting. Every change is announced on the site and on @thesitewithnoname before it applies, listed in the rule log below, and only applies to renames made after it takes effect. The price you saw at the moment you paid is the price you paid, and nothing that comes later can alter the name you already bought.

The site can stop. If the site closes, the history stays online as long as reasonably possible. No compensation is owed for a name that is no longer displayed.

Rule log

Rule change #1 — 10 September 2026. Launch rules: $1 base price, 25¢ added per rename, 25¢ removed per hour after 24 hours without a rename. Each name is displayed for a minimum of 60 seconds; names paid for during that time are queued and displayed in order. The price of the next rename is set when a payment is opened, not when it completes, so simultaneous buyers each get their own step.

Every future change will be added here with its date, so you can always see what the rules were the day you paid.

Privacy

We store the name you paid for, the handle you chose to display, the amount and the date. Stripe processes your payment details, we never see your card number. Your e-mail, collected by Stripe for the receipt, is not used for anything else.

No advertising trackers. Anonymous visit counting only. You can ask for the deletion of your handle at any time at the address below; the name itself stays in the public history.
